Recently just went for a youth camp organized by Handicap Welfare Association or in short (HWA) it was a two day one night camp held at Pasir Ris PA camp site as I was making way to the camp site was quite excited until I left home without eating my breakfast and by the time I reach Pasir Ris MRT the next thing I thought of was getting small bites before actual camp. It excites me a little while I was waiting for the van to pick me up at the MRT Station. I remember when I was in the bus I can still have a chat with the bus driver while we are on our way to camp site as he was someone who used to send me to hospital for appointment before the MRT for circle line was being built. But the moment I reach camp site I have this awkward feeling and started to be alone like a Lone Ranger after introduction we were like being broken up into teams of four

This is the year where there is a lot of things happening in my life. More people coming into my life but also a year where by it have to bit farewell to some people that has impacted my life. Not only that it's a year where by I have to accept new updates of my health issue which kind of bother me quite a lot many people have been around me to support me I am very thankful. As approaching May'2013 it's time to do some preparation for the shine art festival during the preparation I end up making new friends. A year to actually go for new challenges.

Hi everyone I am here to share with you my entire Shine experience from preparation of art work to all the way to official closing for shine with other participant brought you by one of the group participant the project dreamcatcher. The whole project started since may first thought was that to do something that I really like and also something that is not seen normally so thought do something with origami that is actually roses but this rose would be a special rose with lots of colours as I personally love rainbow once when I was feeling down after hearing from the doctors, Run Ting was somewhere nearby and found out and met up with me had lots of talking and crying after crying runting got me ice kachang the moment I saw the ice kachang colours I start to calm myself down and not long after started eating smiles starts to appear on my face no matter how upset I could've been. So I was thinking why not do some flowers to cheer others up but this time each stalk of roses would have multi colours within one stalk. I use the catheters as the stalk of flowers it actually says even in the life of using catheters it actually also has colours within it. That's the whole preparation for the exhibition. Best thing is during the preparation I made more friends and even made friends with medical students too one of them were juliet and they were the ones who came for the launch too.
The launch was held on 19 July 2013 the moment i step in my flowers were not just there as art works but as decorations at the reception table at the walk in too! The crowd was awesome first time round launch was overwhelm the medical students that both Agnes and I have met in the hospital came too. Very Touch and thankful for their support. One of the person who wow me was sister Betty a nurse sister who has been taking care of me she has bee one who is very supportive since young even now she came for the exhibition everyday and even introduce the exhibition to more friends.
Time for the launch to start it started with Chelsea dancing on her wheelchair with the help of her family helping to drop the colours on the canvases so the Chelsea can create patterns. After the launch time for more mingering around guess who did I came across its Daniela. Oh mine thanks for coming down to support since last year when we first started our very first exhibition.
Second day come and visitors came ask if those were really made of paper my reply were yes did live demo and one of the flowers they even asked for autograph I am sure I am not the only one who got asked to give autograph. A few of us got required. The responds were overwhelm folders corners were empty that we have to top up often. Very thankful to one friend as she has been supporting me ever since the first year I decided to get involved in it she came on second day. She is not just someone who supports me for the exhibition but she is also someone who listens to me when I needed someone whenever I go into thoughts she will know. What more can I say to a friend like this guess the only word to describe is awesome.
Third day was crazy day as I started by going for race for cancer in the morning before heading to the exhibition venue. This is also the day where by project dream catcher exhibition became a tourist attraction. First started of with unknown Caucasian tourist coming by to visit for that was still fine later part there comes my long waited oversea relative and his family well that was still fine as they are none strangers so I am still quite ok in speaking my dialect to someone I am familiar with. But not long after they left a family of tourist from Hong Kong came and I was assigned to be the one bringing them around. Bringing them around is not an issue but speaking Cantonese with them was a challenge as I don't usually speak with strangers good thing I manage to talk to them in Cantonese throughout their visit. After that somehow our exhibition turn up to be a tourist attraction several overseas people actually came down to have a look. After they left guess who came my favorite teacher in my primary school is back supporting me and even brought her family along what more can I say towards you. Thank you for all the support you not just my primary school teacher you ex student, you are also my godma. The person who concerns about me other than my immediate family my well being my everything. Many visitors came and even asked if the art work is on sale I always tell them yes it can be on sale but must wait until the whole exhibition to come to an end before it could be put on sale my question to them was are you willing to wait.
Day four started and I realized that this did not just attract tourist it also attracted several art lecturers to have a look at the art pieces. Not just that, lecturers actually spread the word about the exhibition to their students too. Not just that our dear doctors spread the word to their friends too! Oh wow! More surprising visitors actually said they actually learnt about the exhibition through contact media
Day five guess who I came across my wish granter in 2008 actually came to visit the exhibition what more can I say to you, auntie peileng. You are another person that always supports me ever since the first met you as a wish kid to all the way to who I am now. Auntie peileng thanks for the company of the dinner break during the exhibition. The crowd still did not decrease. When I was not around I heard from people who came before me that Yong Kang were actually at the exhibition when I was not around.
Day six most of us think that day 6 would be the last day as planned and its officially announced and being written on the postcards. My day started of with my first visitor came. Winnie my social worker came by to visit thank you so much for the support all these years. As I was bringing her around she realized some of the patient artist were in charged by another colleague too for that I totally slipped of my mind until Winnie came. Brought her around she was like Wah no wonder you say need a lot of time to do this art work and now I know why you need all these papers. Evening is coming thought no one else would be here but I guess I am wrong as first started up with mr and mrs Ho coming thank you for being so supportive ever since the day I entered into your school and become your student not only that despite my speed and my frequent visit to the hospital sometimes even stay you were the one who constantly care about not just my studies as a teacher but also provide me emotional support with some other teachers when my health is going down hill even after I have graduated from the school. Winnie left mr and mrs Ho left thought no one that I know of would be here to my surprised jasmine took some time off even after working hours came down to visit simply just so touch as she came and visit the artwork of Zoe's and myself was just talking to her half way about the experience of from starting to do the art work to all the way to the official last day of the exhibition suddenly I sense that someone that I did not expect to turn up to be here. Just as we were to leave the exhibition venue a staff of sculpture square came and asked if the art pieces can stay over another weekend as that weekend was the art and design fair and if possible artist would be good to be around. I went to help out the fair. The crowd were lesser as it was not announced on the invitation. Most of the visitors were actually a designer doing design as their profession. After so much of the art and design fair time to leave sculpture square and head off to the next program that's the shine art festival closing which was actually held at the resort world universal studio Singapore as approaching i actually bump into Abigail my secondary school Extra curriculum activity art club made back then I took art wow like that also can meet up what a small world. The moment we arrived each of us were actually given a goodie bag and a wrist tag upon entering the place had some mingering around as I was there with Swee Heng, poi wong, karwai and her family. As we were getting in I realized my handcycling friend Kang wei was actually one of the award recipients congrats to kangwei not long later we had food coming had burgers and fries and after that headed for some fireworks the fireworks shown were beautiful and after that went back to the activity they were just showing the video and guess who was actually in the video it was actually Agnes wow what you say were so true."obstacle is not an issue most importantly is to believe in yourselves in all the things you do". Here we come to an end of shine 2013 till the next time we will be back next year for shine 2014.

Dreams are Colorful
Dreams Something bright and positive
Dream place would always be a place with a lot of different kind of flowers with classical music
Dream place also have beautiful jiggling surrounded with some kind of rhythm
Wonder what's the poem all about here it goes I am back again but this time round I am here to share my experience of how it feels like to be back participating in the shine art festival organized by national youth council and that a team of us from project dream catcher participated on it.
The exhibition was held at sculpture square. When I first heard that we will be back this year my first thought was that maybe my art work to be link with the things I use in my daily life that's the catheters of flowers as due to multiple admission to the hospital and I always received flowers from people around me whenever they are here to visit me or be there for me at my lowest point in life and anything that do with multi colours no matter how sad I can be anything colourful would just have back the smile on my face remember once I was in the hospital feeling low Run Ting found out about it she got me down for some ice kachang and even once when I was feeling low Julia had a chat with me over dinner couldn't have smile on my face but rainbow brownies appear in front of me smile start appearing. Timeline of preparing the art work were tight but however this will not stop me from putting the smile on my face. Two months has passed and exhibition was originally dated19th July to 23rd July 2013 however due to overwhelming response most of the part work got into the art and design market on 27 and 28 July. Response of the art work enquiry many actually asked if the works were to be sold however we will put into consideration and kept their contracts.
I was still having struggles in life but however I was living my life to the fullest even in the life of struggles. I always belief that in life nothing is easy and the preparation of the exhibition were my focus when I am in the times of struggles. On 19 July finally the day of exhibition launch day. A lot of people went to sculpture square to look at our individual art works and collaboration many actually ask if my art piece were actually real roses or I used something to make it out reply that I gave was those flowers were actually made from prescription, tax invoices, discharged summary and procedure form reason behind those flowers were actually in life of catheters there is still colours around the respond look that I got from everyone were shocked as most unwanted documents to receive from dr fearful one can photocopy the copies and keep the original copy and photocopied ones will be turn into something colorful and have a positive feeling when looking at it. I once said this "You can't have a rainbow without a little rain"
This year exhibition was a success as there were even tourists going for our exhibition. Some of them not only just turn up for exhibition but even got a few of us to did some autograph for them. One thing is that I may missed out is that during the launch day I didnt prepare papers for live demo. Maybe if next year I were to do origami as my art work i will have to standby some papers at the very start. Would like to take this opportunity to thank Hwee Hwee for guiding me and encouraging me even though she say she didn't do much. Karwai and Gillian always there for me when I needed a chat during the preparation time Mdm Quek also known as mama Siew Kee Mr Ivan Ho, Evelyn, Jasmine and winnie provide me never ending support always there every year at the exhibition. All instructors this couldn't have happen without their guidance Daddy mummy supporting me through this project and everyone around me walking through this process with me all the way to the day of celebration Cant Wait for PROJECT DREAMCATCHER 2014 to come!

Can't believe 2012 has just ended its like some roller coaster that people that always ride during vacation but for me it's situation. First was never ending of attack and brought me to feel tiredness then next come getting involved in arts form of project by project dream catchers through project which I manage to pick up myself and stay strong and go through all problems in life from that project but life still wasn't smooth. But however through this I manage to find what kind of true self I am a strong one. I guess nothing it's gonna pull me down even tough situation like this. Do I feel scared? Yes. But no point worrying or upset things that have to happen just got to accept it. Now I am one who will look for positive other option and not give up because of current problem. In life there is always up and down so long you stay positive you will be able to pass all obstacle
